I have over 10 years of experience in the fields of mental health and substance use. I am in ongoing supervision and have worked with many mentors, healers, and therapists over the years. I have sat in the client’s seat and understand what it takes to make that choice to change.

I moved to Vancouver from Hungary when I was 19 to study psychology and eventually become a therapist. I always felt that there could be more truth, more compassion, more understanding between people. I always strive to meet clients where they are at, and look for meaning and direction in suffering. I believe that therapy can help you look at life’s problems from different angles, and discover the truth and the hope that can be found in them. Let’s walk that road together.

My Approach to Therapy

I have worked in the field of mental health for over 10 years. My work centres around the therapeutic power of the relationship created in session and the transformative power of a real human encounter to facilitate change.

Therapy can help create a new experience of what relationships can feel like. It provides space for healing trauma, processing anxiety, and finding meaning where there was only depression. I focus on clear communication radical understanding and fostering change through the therapeutic connection.

Working through trauma is a crucial part of therapy. It involves recognizing the places where we can get stuck and frozen in restricted ways of living and using the therapeutic bond to help move beyond the defensive and protective behaviours that trauma produces.  This allows us more freedom and agency to make choices and deeper connections with others.

Working with Couples

Making relationships work is a life-long process of compassion, commitment, and communication. Finding the real flavour of dynamic relationships is essential, yet it can at times feel distant and unattainable. It takes time and effort to become skilled at relational living and heal the wounds caused by ineffective communication.

Relational therapy invokes your lived experience in the present to guide the session. Through effective non-violent communication in real time, you will have a chance to speak the difficult truths in ways that can be heard and received. This can lead to paths of healing and growth which can reliably shift the present dynamic and move you and your partner out of your stuck places.

What to expect

The beginning stages of couples therapy involve becoming clear on the presenting problems and how they became what they are now. This might mean exploring your past, your family of origin, and traumatic events that may affect your current relationship. After this, we explore the present dynamic and how it can be improved. This includes processing conflict in session, building emotional skills, non-violent communication, and other practices that can enhance your relationship and develop trust.

Aron received training in Terry Real's Relational Life Therapy and Non-Violent Communication.

Experienced with:
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relational difficulties
  • Men's work, accountability, healthy masculinity
  • Childhood trauma and family of origin
  • Self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Mental health diagnoses (OCD, psychosis, eating disorders)
  • Alcohol and substance use
  • Psychedelic integration and spiritual emergency

Whether you are looking to heal old wounds, deal with a present crisis, or want to change something about yourself, there may be something that I can offer you. My approach involves compassionate care and deep listening and taking what you say seriously. This helps us clarify your problems and figure out what you need to change in your life.

The most important thing in therapy is trust. In a trusting alliance, we may find healing, speak the truth, and find the courage to change. Clients generally find me grounded, trustworthy, and a safe and attentive, compassionate presence.

My approach can be beneficial if you suffer from depression and anxiety, have suffered trauma, or are struggling with relationships or family dynamics. I have experience in working with survivors of abuse and men who strive to develop a healthier sense of masculinity. I worked extensively with clients who deal with substance use, psychosis, and disordered eating.

My work with couples is grounded in the belief that clarity and courage bring change. We work to name the real problems, speak the truth when we see it and find ways and practices that can change your relationship for the better. My approach to couples is grounded in Relational Life Therapy, while my individual work is informed by the radical therapeutic approach of R.D. Laing and others.
