Low-Cost Counselling
We provide low cost Counselling with our Interns
Our intern counsellors are trained in basic counselling skills from their graduate studies and can offer you an empathic space and provide guidance in connecting with your emotions, thoughts, and behaviour. They come from diverse backgrounds but usually do not have specific in-depth training in any particular approach but may have an interest in the kinds of approaches their supervisor (Delyse Ledgard) practices. They receive close supervision and training as they finish their training with us.
We receive many applications from students wanting to do their internship with us so we are in the fortunate position that we can choose the very best. Before they are interviewed all students must fulfill our criteria of:
- 30 years old and over.
- Having undergone and continue to be engaged in their own therapy.
- Able to commit to being with us for at least 8 months.
From this pool our clinical director and intern supervisor selects interns who are committed to learning and have a passion for the work. Students who show an exceptional ability for compassion and understand what is involved in creating a safe space for clients.
Our interns can provide you with a counselling relationship that supports many struggles including relationships, anxiety, depression, stress, and childhood trauma. Some of our interns also provide couples counselling. Check out their information below!
Please note most intern fees cannot be claimed back with extended health benefits/insurance.

Delyse Ledgard RCC
she/her
Delyse has been supervising students for the past 20 years. Turning Point Therapy was one of the first private practice clinics to offer internships.
Delyse wanted a way to make counselling more accessible to folks who were financially challenged, and give new therapists the support they needed to have the best start. Delyse's supervision provides in depth feedback (through reviewing recordings) and space to safely explore the students emotional responses that might get in the way of the therapeutic process. Delyse offers demonstrations and role plays as part of supervision to explore interventions and the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship.
Delyse's provides supervision from the following approaches. Internal Family Systems, Somatic therapy, Focusing, Relational Life Therapy, and Psychodynamic orientations. She is experienced in Trauma therapy and couples counselling.
